CO-OPERATIVE HOUSING IRELAND
Co-operative Housing Ireland (CHI) is the national organisation
representing, promoting and developing co-operative housing in

shared ownership and social rented co-operatives. CHI currently

as providing a network of childcare services in our communities.
1. ROLES
CHI is seeking 1 x Full-Time, Permanent, Housing Officer to work
**Apply on the website** Hours per week, Monday ? Friday. The role
will involve regular travel around the greater Dublin Area but will be
based out of our Dublin West Office, **Apply on the website** Avondale

2. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* To work with the Housing Services Manager and Area Housing Services
Manager, co-operative members and representatives to ensure the
delivery of quality housing management, administration, caretaking,
repair and maintenance services for the designated co-operative
housing estates and apartment blocks.
* To ensure that policies and procedures for housing management and
maintenance are implemented.
* To work as a member of team to provide adequate office and
out-of-hours cover.
* Co-operative membership recruitment and tenancy allocation.
* Calculation of rents, rent collection, rent account administration
and arrears collection.
* Updating of information and logging of member communications on
the housing IT system.
* Ensuring minimum void turnaround times in co-operation with the
Asset Management Team.
* Ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions of tenancy
agreements.
* Preparation of cases for the Residential Tenancies Board.
* Liaison with local co-operative management committees and
members/residents.
* Upkeep and care of co-operative housing estates, open spaces,
gardens etc.
* Supporting local co-operative members in the development of
community initiatives.
* Control of nuisances and any anti-social behaviour.
* Arranging for the cleaning of communal areas, yards and parking
areas, apartment block entrances.
* Working as part of a team to ensure that safety standards are
maintained.
* Responding to repair requests from member tenants for which the
organisation has responsibility, categorisation of repairs and job
orders.
* Liaising with sub-contractors regarding quotes, value-for-money,
standards of workmanship and payments.
* Working with the Asset Management Team to develop and implement
planned and cyclical maintenance programmes in accordance with the
Asset Management Strategy.
* Attending training and staff information sessions as required.
* To provide a customer service to members of Co-operative Housing
Ireland, general public and have the ability to build relationships
with stakeholders.
* To ensure value for money is achieved for CHI.
* Any other duties that may be assigned by Management. This may
include assignment to any location where Co-operative Housing Ireland
manages co-operative housing estates.
3. REQUIREMENTS
* Knowledge of Housing Sector/Co-operative Housing/Social Housing.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Competent I.T. Skills.
* Full driving licence, use of a car and willingness to travel
regularly.
* A relevant housing qualification would be a distinct advantage
(but not essential).
